Default Off the shelf or custom remap??

I have an MY00 turbo with a magnex downpipe decat , an uprated filter and a Tek 1 ecu. Thinking of upgrading the ecu to a safe level.
Although I am well aware there could be problems with either option which would be best for someone who does'nt have to have the last few bhp extracted from engine. Would an off the shelf remap or a conservative custom remap be best. Thanks in advance.

A custom remap ( often known asa Tek3 ) would be by far the best, suiting your actual engine, fuel etc. No point in asking for a milder map, just drive accordingly!

Agreed - A custom map for your car is by far the safest
