Default Fitting an STi panel filter

Had a peek in the airbox of my MY03 STi today. The regular filter was looking up at me displaying all its corrugated papery bits. This has disconcerted me as I've got an STi panel filter and the instructions are in Japanese. Someone on a thread here told me that the foam side with the STi logo faces upwards when installed. That means the STi filters corrugated papery bits will face downwards. Can anyone clarify this?
Thanks in advance,
Hugh.

That's correct! The STi filter has a mesh, the standard filter hasn't
Make sure the tags at the end of the top are located properly before closing and clipping.
