Mongoose de-cat

Mongoose de-cat
I have the chance of buying a Mongoose full de-cat exhaust including down pipe. Just wondering what your opionions are on them. It will be going on a MY99 wagon (only other mod is a Sti panel filter). How does fitting benefit the sound and performance of the car ? Not so bothered about BHP figures, more general driveability and engine response. If anyone has any pictures of a system on and of the car i would appreciate it !!
Also what is a double dump down pipe ? What benefits does this type of pipe have ?

Also. I think the system has a 3" bore. I have read post thats say this may move the power further up the rev range and be more suitable for heavily tuned cars hence less driveable power for daily use. Is this true ?

Got a full mongoose on my MY94 STI wagon, replaced the OE exhaust around 3 years ago. I was happy with the change in engine performance, the turbo for me at least starts kicking in around 500rpm earlier than with the OE exhaust, plus it released around 20bhp. You will be able to hear the turbo spooling up slightly with the mongoose, which may or may not be an issue : for me, I quite like it and it isn't intrusive. Motorway driving is OK, although the wagons do seem to "boom" slightly more than the saloons at high speed.
