Fitted 550cc injectors from group buy
Hi,
I have fitted some 550cc injectors from the group buy to my 98 UK turbo, Can I now turn down the fuel pressure to make them work as close to the old 380cc grey injectors as possible. Car is not remapped yet.
What pressure would give the required amount of fuel?
Also the bolts included with the adaptor kit were not quite long enough so I have fitted them without the supplied spring washers to make them a bit longer. Will this matter?
Thanks
George

Allowing for the ECU to run -25% correction for closed loop (the usual limit), then a drop of about 0.5 bar from the static 3 bar with the vac hose off the regulator might allow it to idle and cruise (just!), don't try doing anything else, even then with care, monitoring. They may not atomise well at 2.5 bar differential pressure either. Slower injectors (like some Denso 550s) may be a bit better at idle on a rich map.

John, I think they are Denso 550's. They are a brown colour on the top part where the old ones were grey, the adaptor kit was from Pavlo. I think I will just leave it on the drive untill remap time.
Thanks

Forgot to ask, when I fitted the adjustable regulator I set the pressure to 3 bar with the engine on idle warmed up and vaccum pipe disconnected. I later saw the figure 3.2 bar mentioned in another thread, so I adjusted it, which is correct?
Thanks

Hi,
Used a pair of pliers which had a rough gripping edge, twisted them round first to loosen them and then just pulled them out. Came out easier than I expected.
