Default 102db Static at 4500-5000rpm

I'm interested in doing a few track days so I hired a noise meter from Bookatrack.com.

On my MY03 STi with a TSL Firestorm backbox and TSL centre section it measured 102db static (0.5m away at 45 degree angle).

I got my mate to measure it on a couple of drivebys which came out at 101.4db and 102.9db.

Just thought I'd post this incase anyone with similar exhaust is wondering how loud their car is.

You will be in trouble at that level.
At the hill climbs i run with my Sti v3 using a full Magnex de-cat, I'm measured at 92 Dba at 1 meter from the tip at 70% of red line static.
I usually win the quietest car in the meeting....

I have a Firestorm with a Magnex downpipe and centre, and DR Motorsports 'GT Spec II' headers. I got 108db at Japfest. I had to put my standard backbox on to get onto the track

MY00 with H&S downpipe, Magnex resonated centre, Magnex B/B got 89 db at Japfest, which I was amazed at - very quiet !

A friends MY99 with a Scoobysport downpipe & B/B with a Sti centre pipe was 98 db.

Would be great to have these sort of figures in a FAQ somewhere - thought about starting one....
