might need a new clutch
my clutch seems to be abit juddery in 1st gear when i pull away but it only ever happens in 1st it still changes perfect in the rest of the gears.
as far as im aware i still have the original clutch as i havent changed it and its not on any of my receipts from previous owners. now my car is on 107k so its taken its toll so i wouldnt be to gutted if its on its way out.
could you also tell me the difference between an organic and paddle clutch as i havent got a clue and which one is best if i need a new one it would need to take about 320 bhp.
also i have heard stories where a clutch has damaged the gearbox because its to powerful is this true?
cheers dave

Comments above I think are correct for the judder. My old UK Turbo 1999 juddered until the clutch was bled and Dot 5 fluid used.
The organic clutch is one that has a fibre/metalic 'organic' facing, segmented to give a very robust smooth engaging unit which, if an AP or Lateral or Exeedy origin with tolerate 350 bhp and 320 lbft torque.
The paddle type comes in 2 forms. Common is the full race solid centre 4 (or 3) paddel disc which has 4 pads lined with ceramic material. These clutches are extemely aggressive, murder on the road (if not impossible) and will knock 7 bells out of the trans. Second paddle type is as above but with the soft sprung centre section of the Organic. You can live with this type on the road, I had one in my 911. They kill your flywheel as it is metal to metal and traffic crawling is hard work.
Go for a skimmed flywheel and a new AP Organic, mine is great and the car is thrashed in competition too @ 314 bhp.
