Default gear not springing

tonight it seems i lost the 'bounce' into neutral position? usually when i go from 2nd to 3rd i push forward and it goes by itself to neutral then i push up into 3rd but tonight it stopped in between 1st and 2nd? it still 'springs' in the reverse or 5th back to neutral but doesn't spring 1st or 2nd? is this gonna be an expensive problem? its a quickshift gear box and it doesn't slip when in gear or anything, it just doesn't spring to neutral.

mine's done this for 2 years, I asked the same question last week, apparently it's likely to be the spring under the gearbox at the bottom of the linkage and dead cheap to fix

That is correct! Simple cheap spring, jack the car high, and using a pair of long nose pliers fit the spring from the base of the lever to a tag on the gearbox shifter stabilising bar, remove yourself, the jack, and job done.
Garage would do it for a pint if you have the spring.
