Question ECU mods HELP

I am looking to get the most from my engine without major engine work. As the car as a MY95 JDM WRX I am considering some sort of ECU modification.
The purpose of which would be to bring the engine map in line with uk fuel (OPTIMAX) and increase performance.
Do I go all out and get something like a replacement unit, perhaps a GEMS or will a piggyback ecu be ok.
There is a lot of choice out there, does antone have any first hand experience of the aftermarket items.

I am also considering replacing the Dump Valve with an atmospheric version. Which one is best for the job.

AFAIK the ScoobyECU is the best bang for buck, but they are super hard to get hold of...

If you are thinking of changing the whole thing i would reccomend Apexi Power Fc...
