Exclamation Downpipe Decat for MY04 STI v10?????

Is there any real problems by putting a decat downpipe and Back Box on a brand new 04 STI with 1000miles on the clock, other than the warning light problem, or am I worried over nothing???

Graham

Just voiding the warranty possibly. Maybe the way to go is a PPP. Just a thought

From what i've heard it's like driving two different cars! Don't know how true this is someone on here should know. But from my point of view i think it is worth it because you keep the warranty.

Overboost, overboost, overboost, these are the worse symptoms of a downpipe on new age STIs. You can try different size restrictors though!

If you go for a decat downpipe then your going to really need a remap, then you have also invalidated your warranty, so whats worth more, 2k for the PPP or 1k+ for the decat d/p and remap yet no warranty when your engine may let go? (6k for a new one)
The PPP is the safest option and you have peice of mind (and you dont spash out 25k on a new car and invalidate the warranty straightaway).
I think Greasemonkey stated in another thread, if your going down this route then you should have got a JDM STi, would have been cheaper to start with.
