Stock max boost and held boost for a JDM STi7 ?
Hi all,
About to stick back in the OEM ecu to see if it cures my detting problem. Does anyone know the max boost the OEM ecu is set for in 4th gear, peak and held ?
Cheers,
Ray

bttt, did a search and try to find some old DD logs but have not got anywhere....
Thanks guys
Bretman, what boost were you running before your remmap with the full decat and adjustable flow valve ? I think you had a boost gauge...

I seem to recall it was around 1.25 bar peak dropping off to 0.9 to 1.0 bar at redline in the lower gears. Can't remember exactly, but I do know that on the stock ECU and stock exhaust (no decat), you could still peak at 1.3 to 1.4 bar in sixth, worst case.
And we all know what happened to the boost when running the OEM ECU with a decat and no restrictor adjustment - (1.7 bar anyone?).
Sounds from your other post as though relocating your knocklink brought the activity down did it?
For what its worth, it sounds like you are worrying about it too much - in my view the remapped ECU should be safer than the stock one with the decat. As I said, my Knocklink activity is lower with the new ECU map.

Hey Bretman,
Thanks for the info. Yes things have improved slightly after the relocation of the KL; however, amber lights everywhere unsettles the nerves. Trust me you would be trying to solve the problem as well if you had amber lights everytime you went WOT
