If you have one of these on a classic to the TMIC, then I'd advise you to check it if possible. I've had a look at one recently that has been on a car for 10k miles and it was worn badly. It looked like it was being cut by the engine steady bracket on top of the gearbox. There is very little space between the OE plastic pipe and this bracket, which is non-existant when replaced by the larger SAMCO item.

I saw a nick on mine (MY97) when I came to demod my car. I wondered where it came from - thought I'd caught it with a screwdriver.

Saw this happening on mine, putting a couple of cable ties around the hose stops the bracket chafing.

 

Had samco's fitted yesterday - I'll have a look and make sure they're not touching the bracket!

noticed mine was touching the same bracket MY00 when inspecting the gearbox last week. Will whip of the intercooler and check if it's damaged at the weekend.
