Is my motor too old to upgrade? 80k miles
My UK00 has done over 80,000 miles, most of them running over 300bhp.
I have a US 2.5 block ready to fit, but wonder if the rest of the car is past its best and I should upgrade to a 6-speed STi before going for big bhp.
I've had the car from new and most of those miles have been very easy, tootllng around the back roads listening to the ICE. It gets treated very carefully and only gets a major spanking on the odd tack day - about six in total to date.
So far, the only mechanical failure is a suspected front universal joint on the driver's side. Only appeared two weeks ago. Otherwise, the car runs like new. Am I now in for a bucket full of trouble in the next few thousand miles? Or is there plenty of mechanical life left in the drivetrain?
Thanks,
Richard.
