Question Gearbox Whining?

Rite guys. Need help hear.
Had a new clutch, full kit, put in in Feb. Bek n Borg. I was geting this whining noise before it was changed but when i engage the clutch it disapears.
Its still there after the new clutch went in. The noise revs up with the engine but again, when the clutch is in, its quiet!! Been told its my thrust bearing but that was part of the kit!
No problem with gear changing.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Chris.

Chris...Could be the first motion shaft bearings.....When you push the clutch in,You are disengaging the first motion shaft,And its only the engine thats turning...If it were the thrust bearing,You would get the noise as you place the bearing under thrust,IE- in contact with the pressure plate.
Whilst the clutch is released in neutral,Its the first motion shaft thats turning...And still turning,Whilst in gear...To transfer the motion to the next cog....Good luck...Kev..

I does sound like the problem I'v had with previous cars.....release bearings on the clutch, but as you say, that should have been part of the full kit. Its definetly not the internals of your gearbox, so that's certainly a relief, but I'd agree with the above post....seems the only logical explanation.
Either way, the box will have to come out.

Thanks guys.
Will get it looked at straight away.
Any idea on how much a new part will cost? I can get my mate who did my clutch to do the work at half the price a dealer would charge so that a big help.

Cheers.

Chris.
