No need to worry about reliability. First off I'd suggest you get a boost gauge and Knocklink. Then consider a 2nd hand PPP ecu (safe enough for Subaru to still provide warranty cover when purchased as the whole package. Although not applicable in this case, it gives you an idea.) Or a Tek 2 ecu, again available 2nd hand. If you want more power than these two fairly conservative options you could consider a Tek3. The latter is a custom remap, for which I'd suggest Bob Rawle at BR Developments.

once you start modding it never stops id recomend an apexi ecu as its cheaper in the long run when you go for more power

Bob Rawle is a very well respected Mapper who maps well within engine reliability margins. He also has a reputation for not trying to sell you things you don't need, unlike many companys tend to be tempted to do.

Email him your car spec and what you might want to do with it,

his email rbr@brdevelopments.com

Cheers, Cal
