Sti Centre Pipe Cat or no Cat??
Can anyone tell me whether there is a cat fitted to an my99 sti centre pipe? If not would this help increase power on my 95wrx? Im pretty new to this Impreza lark.

It's the same pipe that Prodrive fit to a UK PPP upgrade
V.early WRX did not have a cat in the centre either

Yes as Scott says it a resonator and look like a cat.. if you remove a pipe with a cat in you can see the honeycomb when looking into it of the cat entrance etc.. like a grill.. the STi will just be an open resonator with no honeycomb.

My MY00 and old MY94 pipes has the square(ish) resonator just behind the front flange follwed immediatley by the resonator tube (which is about a foot long).
It may depend what year STi, but I know for sure that the MY99/00 STi's had no cat due to Prodrive using them on UK cars (as mentioned above)
I'm not sure, but they may use the same heat shield, which will make it look like there is a CAT where infact behind the shield is just a pipe.

Thanks Guys,
I'll give it a go, should be interesting to see if it makes any difference in performance. I changed my back box frtwin pea shooter one to my mates 99 sti one and it seemed to make my car rev slower for some reason!
Anyway, I'm off to get some spanners......
Cheers
