Default G/box oil level question......

Right, changhed the g/box oil today in my my00 turbo, emptied the box, then put 4 litres of Syntrax in, so how come the level is now about 3/4 inch above the full mark????
It means i've gotta get dirty tomorrow and drain some out, a joyous task!!

Ron.

some say that you should keep the level above the full mark - it helps 3rd gear.

Not sure by how much though.

4 litres is correct.. about a cm above max.. leave it.. will help 3rd gear as mentioned as it ensures it is covered in oil!

Good o, no messing about tomorrow then.
It feels a bit 'slicker' than it did! it was syntrax already, but I think it was two years old.
Cheers guys!!

The dipstick reading is very 'level sensitive' If you're on any kind of slope - even very slight, the reading will be way out!
