Best Aftermarket Back Box
I have a MY00, just wondering what are the best aftermarket boxes. Do they invalidate the extended warranty by having one fitted.

Your decision will be based on how much you have to spend, and how loud you want it. I've personally got the Hayward & Scott 3.5" silencer. Absolutely love it. Understated to look at, fabulous bob-bob-bob-bob on tickover, wonderful growl on full acceleration, acceptable cabin noise on motorway cruise. Jim Theo is selling the Janspeed alternative, which is basically identical. I think the only difference is it's polished stainless steel throughout, whereas the H&S is only polished on the exit pipe.
And yes, it probably will invalidate your extended warranty. If you're concerned, might be worth a phone call, just in case...

Loud...Blitz, TSL Firestorm, HKS, Afterburner Vortex.
Not so loud...H&S, Magnex, Ninja, Janspeed, Prodrive.
all depends on what you want.
smurfy.

Best option is to go to a local meet and listen to a few cars and maybe get a few rides and see what takes your fancy!
Think it might invalidate a warranty but don't quote me on that!

I've got the TSL Firestorm with full decat. Awesome dugga dugga, CABIN NOISE IS A BIT LOUD THOUGH . It depends on what you want in the noise department. If it is too loud then you can fit Noisekiller which eliminates low frequency noise but still keeps the acceleration growl.
Look at the warranty, I think that it will invalidate the exhaust warranty but nothing else. If in doubt phone your local dealer.

I thought about the afterburner, but that sounded a bit too loud for me, (and the missus would spot that i had changed it) what about the prodrive box, that doesn't sound too bad. I know it is a little expensive. Might be able to find it a little cheaper on here though.

There is a special offer at the moment on the Jap Innovations backbox.
£225 all in
It gives a superb exhaust note, very rorty but which isn't intrusive on the motorway like some of the large bore Jap stylee systems.
It's the same system I have on my car which develops over 380bhp.
Cheers
