Question Organic clutch - Which one?

I'm near to buying a flywheel and clutch setup for MY02, but need to sort which clutch is best.

I've had very good prices from Lateral Performance, but I'm also looking at Roger Clark Motorsport.

With no search I can't lookup that last (very long) thread about organic jobs.

Have an AP organic one from Roger clarke- much better than the old one and very user friendly and you can do 0-60s all day

Hmm, sounds nice that....what bhp are you flowin through it?

I'd say the Lateral Performance setup will save me about 400 notes all in but I don't want to buy something that wont take the 450/400 magic figure I'm after.

I'm running probably about 270bhp but I think the clutch is good for 500 iirc

Sorry to butt-in, but relavant (I hope).
I've fitted an AP organic, and it's gone wrong on me.
After about 200 mile to bed it in, the clutch pedal is sticking down when changing gear under hard accelleration.
Gedden, did you have this at all?
Taking it all out next week to get to the bottom of it all.
My Stiv3 makes a real 314 bhp and 280 lbft.

Any comments? Is the stock Sti clutch as good as the AP cover is made by the same people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no probs at all with my clutch- Have u made a mistake fitting it yourself or did you get the wrong one? Sounds like the springs are too weak?

Fitted it myself, and sure the numbers are the right one as they were off the AP web site. I think i/ve got the spring clip wrong between the cover and the thrust bearing?
Bloody irritating!

The Spring clip on the cover only goes on one way mate, get under ya bonnet and check that the return spring is on the clutch arm, it goes from the fulcrum arm to the bracket on top of the block.

If this is missing you will get your symptoms.

TBH it wont be the clutch..

Rob

The Release bearing tends to be in or out, not half way IYSWIM...

Question

I'm sure the AP 240mm clutch with mod STI7 flywheel will match my performance needs...more power! more Power!!

Do you guys think there;s much gain in having a 240mm clutch kit as 230mm?? std wrx diameter?

Chirs (Wrrjones). Can you confirm what your organic clutch is made up of and specs, price. Very interested...also, can you do a sti7 flywheel modified too?

Is it the larger 240 mm clutch?

Must be the right thing to do!
The increase in surface is 'huge', and the heat dissipation good too with that.
Well worth the cost.
