Odd problem - clutch/engine/dunno?
Bit of wierd, intermittent engine/gearbox (?) problem that has developed since having various upgrade done to my car (P1 - Exhaust, Tek3).
Basically, on certain occasions (motorway cruising or overtaking) when I accelerate in 4th or (more commonly) in 5th the revs seem to "lag behind" the throttle position. They will then suddenly jump to where they should be (if that makes sense). This is accompanied by a surge in power (obviously) and, sometimes, a big flash up the knocklink. The latter is, I suspect, due to the sudden increase in engine noise.
I had wondered if it was the clutch but the revs don't increase with throttle position (not linearly anyway) so I suspect not. Other thoughts were perhaps throttle position sensor (is there one? Must be...).
Like I said it is fairly intermittent but then I can almost guarantee when it'll do it - usually 5th gear acceleration after cruising at a set speed/power for a while on, say, a motorway.
I'm getting it remapped again in a couple of weeks which might cure it but in the meantime, any thoughts?

the circumstances for it happening are the same as when my clutch started to slip on my 99wrx,flooring it in 5th,boost starts to build, then the clutch slips revs shoot up,boost backs off ,clutch grabs again. It felt like an engine blip at first then became more obvious it was the clutch as it got worse. You would see a sudden jump on the rev counter though,as boost starts to peak.Otherwise it sounds like the boost is slow to kick in so it could be boost control but thats just a guess.
