Turbo, Up & Down Pipe Diagram
Does anyone have a diagram of a MY99 or similar
turbo and the exhaust pipes which connect to it ?
Mine is blowing from the lower front left of the turbo, as you look at it from the front of the bonnet. I think it must be a gasket on a pipe/connection in that area but do not know WHAT it there or what it should look like.
I have a service booked for next Friday and could get this done,
but would need to buy the bits it may be in advance.
Thanks.

I do not know. I just wanted some idea as to what was in the location I
said so that I could get the gaskets ordered in advance of Subaru looking.
How long would it take to dismantle the bits necessary to check the up
and down gaskets and the up pipe flex joint ? (just to check, not replace) ??
Can I do the car any harm if I run it with a split pipe or gasket ?
Thanks.

Not really damage but your car will run like crap!!!
I dont know an easy way of checking the gaskets as they are quite hard to get to. Just try wetting your hand and moving it round the area that you think leaks. If you feel any blowing then bob is your uncles milkman
my mate had to change his and it took them 6 hours to do as the bolts had to be burnt off and all sorts of other problems
