Most "fast road" ones have a higher coefficient of friction on the friction material than std road parts. 4 paddle is, instead of the friction material being a solid disk its 4 equispaced pads. My experience of paddle clutches wasn`t good (lead to broken gearbox when used for drag racing) but i know of peebs who use them for everyday driving without complaints.
The big difference btwn the two is paddle clutches are either engaged or not, theres no "bite point" as such hence they`re a bit more difficult to use in an everyday car. The paddle clutches tend to be able to handle more torque as well "cerimetallic" material
