hi all im after some info, i need a gearbox for my 99 sti 5,will any other gear box fit for eg,sti 4 or uk turbo,ive been told i need a box out of a 99-00 car but all i seem to be orrered is 97-98 boxs ,can any one tell me for sure

Tony, Safest is to match the TY numbers on the gearbox labels [ on the clutch housing in the area of the starter]. An import box will be something like TY754 VB xxx there is some cross over of the last three digits and l can advise you on what will or will not swap.

A UK box will be TY 754 VN xxx and the rear drive is a different ratio and thus will fit but not work without tieing your rear axle in knots.
