Default Which headers??

I am having a "project" done on my car at the min and i want to put some different headers on. I have been told ported headers are good as they do not loose the scooby rumble. Is this correct?

Yes. You will loose the off beat burble if you go to equal length but there are lots of headers (tubular) that are unequal length.

Depending on your turbo, Gruppe'S' from the US with up- pipe for 399$ plus shipping plus import duty and VAT. Unequal length.
There have been issues with the solid up-pipe, expansion and contraction causing leaks. Also flange faces not flat. These issues are surmountable but some people have gone for an up-pipe with a flexi joint or a Hayward and Scott slip joint up-pipe.

The version 2 Gruppe-S headers use a cast collector with a very thick flange and a Helix uppipe with a flexi joint to address the issues with the earlier design, which I think the first group buy received. IIRC you can buy them without the uppipe for $299.

I used a 2" H&S solid uppipe I already had fitted and was expecting to have to use 2 gaskets or have to do some fiddling to get the flange between the Gruppe-S headers and the solid uppipe to match, as it was they mated perfectly first time.

True -- the v2 Gruppe-S did have a smaller collector. It also *only* came with the flexi up-pipe (no smaller-bore solid version available). IIRC the first g/b bought entirely v1 headers. All buyers in the 2nd g/b (bar one) bought v2, and most bought the flexi up-pipe (as opposed to sourcing their own).
