Porting headers

Porting headers
OK, so I am getting the wastegate ported on my STi5 Type R to cure boost creep (thanks all for confirming pats diagnosis), and thought whilst I had the die grinder, I may as well port the headers!
1st question: I assume they just need to be ported to where a soot line will be?
2nd question: I seem to remember reading it is best to take off the heat shields and wrap, is this the case?
3rd question: Will I get any gains (and if so, how far off stainless headers?)
4th Question: Are they a complete bugger to get off (say compared to a d/p which is fairly easy?)
Once this is done, I will have the TEK3 map tweaked to support the alterations!

1) Yes thats what I do when I do them.
2) Not sure. I have the oe shields on mine.
3) Yes. Spool up is more urgent as there is less back pressure.
4) Not really. The worst part is usually removing the heat shields from around the head outlets.
Well worth doing in my opinion.
