Thumbs up

What? They're only easy to stall if you go too light, get a silly clutch, have no feeling in your left foot, or a combination of all three.

There are very usable advantages to be gained in terms of better throttle response. IMO it makes for a much more driveable car. Yes Dave, go for it, but I certainly wouldn't go any lighter than 5.something kilogrammes. 6-8 is a better compromise.

As long as you avoid a paddle clutch Dave, you shouldn't be too bad as far as stalling is concerned. In general though, unless you're running significantly more than 300lb/ft torque (which you won't be if you're on the standard TD04), you're fine with either an OE or the Borg & Beck replacement from Autospares.

no, it doesn't lose torque, simply has less reserve of it while off gas. Actually if gives more usable torque while on gas (less reserve remember), hence the improved throttle response

supplied (and use on our own comp. cars) loads of these - modified std down to 7.5-8kgs...................faster spool, no idle issues and generally better throttle response............as GM says above only an issue if its stupidly light...............

alyn - asperformance.com

p.s. we modify our own and supply if need be........................
