From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

to run something like 272 - 276 may require different springs etc.
John banks is using sti5 cams with good results.

Piper will regrind your own cams for @£250. Look at the web page and you can have group A spec, but I imagine not much use for a road car not running with a 34mm restictor

Sorry to be a bit off topic Kurt.....

Are the group A cams from Piper good for a restrictor car? Specs? (I have the high lift, low duration cams from the US STi in mind for use in a group A car)

Kurt,

There is nothing like good or bad for cams (or heads, or turbos, or........) It all depends on your wishes! An engine has to be build to fullfill your wishes. In my opinion anything above 400 HP is too much for a std. US STi block (for reliability), so US STi cams will do fine. (these cams also suit the 7000 RPM redline which should be about the limit for this engine to keep it in one piece)

If you change the internals and raise the rev limit, you could go for longer duration cams, etc.

Just my 2c.

EMS, didn't you have some photos of vernier wheels a while ago. Did you do some work on gas flowing heads about 6/12 ?

If you are changing the internals is this just to increase the rev limit or are also lowering the compression ratio and what are you using to do this

I'm building an engine without the variable cam system I will not be able to use the US STI cams I think

No, it wasn't me.

It should be possible after you close some holes in the cam.
