Default Engine Blown....help!

Didn't have the best day on Monday, went to Keevil Airfield to have a relaxing Airfield Day with my Subaru STI RA!

I have just had a FMIC fitted and on Saturday BR did a remap, car was driving superb for most of the day until the bottom end let go and destoryed itself!

What I want to know is I get a newer STI engine can I use all the ancilleries that I am using at the moment, including heads, Link ECU, TDO5 turbo, 550 injectors etc. Is an STI3,4,5,6,7 short block any different to my STI2 short block?

Dom.

PS - I also knackered the clutch on my M5!

so it blew up only 2 days after a remap??

I'm not as clued up as most on here when it comes to these engines, but my first port of call would be straight back to the mappers wanting an explanation.

They'll be a reason why it blew. I would want to know what it was personally if it happened to me

Default Engine blow up

Bob Rawle mapping an engine that blows and it's his fault??, come on guys, Bob is THE maestro, trust me it ain't anything he's done.

More likely a metal fatigue problem on a car of this age.

PS Dominic, we have spoken before I saw this.

I know that it wasn't Bob's fault, down to my craving for more power on my 10 year old engine!!

I reckon I was up too about 340bhp/320lb/ft when it finally gave up! Time for a nice new rebuild I think...I'll call you tomorrow David.

Dom.
