Worth it?
There may be a 1999 Uk Turbo for sale......VERY cheap.
Apparently, when the gearbox warms up the steering goes spazzy, something wrong with the front diff, will this be expensive to correct?
Once again the car is VERY VERY cheap, should I buy it or not considering the problem.

second hand gearboxes which will include the front diff are not that expensive when you take into consideration the whole price of the car.
Try some one like david at API engines for a reccomendation and a price on a recon box.

You might find it has the wrong oil in the gearbox.. although I believe the front diff is enclosed and runs on it's own lifetime supply of oil, it would be effected by the heat of the gearbox oil.
You could replace with Castrol Syntrax gearoil or redline and it might sort it.
Also possible that the wrong gearbox has been fitted and it does not match the rear diff as UK and Jap cars run different ratios.
Hence why the front diff is over heating.

It is a UK car (did I say that in my first post?), Its done fairly high miles, BUT the price of it is going to be shockingly unbelievable, if it costs a grand to put right it will be more than worth it. Well if it cost a grand it would still be around £4000 - £5000 under what they sell for.
Thanks for your help so far fellas, much appreciated.
