Looking to cure MY98 UK piston slap and might have the option on fitting some pistons from an STi 5 (MY99).

Question is will Phase 2 pistons fit in a Phase 1 engine?

Ignoring that they are from an STi, are the part numbers for MY98 & MY99 pistons different?

Any advise please?

They'll fit - but how is that going to fix piston slap? Of do you mean while fixing it, you'll also take the opportunity to fit lighter pistons?

I was under the impression that fixing the piston slap is either a replacement short engine or just replacing the offending pistons, rings & block. If I had the chance of some cheap STi pistons then they might do the job?

my98 is phase 2 as far as im aware (well my 97 is Phase 2 lol)
