Default DE-CAT PLEASE EXPLAIN

HELP NEEDED PLEASE!

I can`t get my head around all this de-cat business so I was hoping someone could please answer my questions.

I`ve got a `99 RB5 WRSport and I`m looking at trying to gain some performance increase through up-rating the exhaust system. My criteria is:

1. Don`t mind de-cating etc as long as the car still pass the MOT test (sports de-cat perhaps?)
2. I don`t want to touch the centre and rear stainless prodrive exhaust parts.

Do I want a down pipe and complete centre section etc?

What would people recommend I do, including names of products and suppliers if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

If you dont wanna touch the centee or BB then all thats left is the Downpipe, but best gains are decat DP's which leaves the car catless so wouldnt pass MOT, your only option is to sports cat DP.

Unless there is a cat in the centre somewhere then decat DP can be applied and the centre cat would see you through the MOT.
Replacing the centre cat for decat provides less gain than a DP.

Hope that sorts it a bit.
Daz.

PS decent decat DP from Scoobysport, TSL, Scoobyworld, hayward and scott....

Anyone else got any other views on the matter?

Thanks
