Default Tapping sound in engine bay under acceleration

WRX 1995

Any ideas anyone?

Engine only has 35k on. Under full power it starts tapping away like a good un.

Something simple???

Could be the boost control solenoid clicking away.
You should also be able to hear it if you stick yoour head under the bonnet and move the throttle off it's resting postition.

It's mounted near the drivers side front strut top.

Aggree with Scott, mine's noisy from 3'500rpm onwards.

Great thanks guys.

Saw your previous thread after a good search.

Any ideas how to cure it? Replacing it with an aftermarket boost controller solenoid help??
