Question Lamda sensor wiring diagram..

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a MY93 WRX oxygen sensor or know what wires go where?

The reason i ask is that i have just replaced the sensor and now the AFR meter reads rich most of the time and there is a flat spot/slight holding back on light throttle @2500-3000 rpm.

According to the wiring diagram that came with the new sensor...

WHITE- Heater/earth
RED- sensor input/positive
BLACK-sensor output

I wish i hadn't touched it now as it ran fine with the old original one!!!
(i only replaced it because it has done 64k)

steve.

Hi, so what did you replace the factory sensor with ? If not the oem item then this could be the problem. As yourr factory sensor is fitted to the collector of the headers it sits in a very high temperature which most sensors (ie the cheap halfords type) are not designed to survive, on that basis it could be producing an erroneous signal even though its new.

cheers

Thanks for the quick reply Bob,the new sensor is a Jap one made by NKT i think.
As i have a full de-cat,do you think it will work better in the downpipe?

So not the genuine part, in that case you do need to fit in the downpipe after the turbo, it "may" work better there, certainly the temperature effect will be far less.

Bob,the reason why i didn't fit a OEM part is because i was quoted £285 +vat.
I work in the motor trade myself and know when a price is a rip off, apparently the reason why it's so expensive is because of the long wires attached!!!!!

Thanks for the advice...i will try it in the down pipe,if that doesn't cure it then i will re-try the old one.Perhaps the new one is faulty.
Failing that i will try the car down the road when hooked up to the diagnostics so i can read the 'live' readings.
