P1 clutch - big noise
Only 850 miles so far so aiming to keep to less than 4000 rpm.
However, revs have gone to 4500 - 4750 or so a couple of times. Couldn't help it, honest....
At or around 4000, no problems at all
On a normal unhurried gear change at the higher revs, no probs either. On a more rapid gear change at these higher revs, and when trying to accelerate as soon as the clutch bites, there is a loud shreek (sp?) which I would say is definitely coming from the clutch area...I might even say I can feel it thro' the pedal if quizzed.
Even if I'm mistiming the change (ie engine revs too high for road speed) then I'm sure there shouldn't be such a loud noise - or is the clutch a bit more severe than all other cars I've ever driven and it is my technique at fault?
Any ideas (before I make a fool of myself at the first service)?
TIA
