I drive a MY95 as well and my cluch has had a high bite point since I had it over three years ago with 46K on the clock. It's done 80K now, still on the same clutch. It did judder for a while a few months ago but after taking a trip to the 'ring in June the judder has gone.
If you use the car infrequently or just for short journeys it does seem to cause these problems, try a few long trips and see if things improve.
I've never suffered from clutch slip with my car, if this happens then you will certainly need a new clutch.

I had an MY93 WRX which had 50k on the clock and the clutch was a bit on the high side, so being a mechanic by trade i thought i would change it.
It didn't turn out to be to much of a bad job but i can honestly say that it was exactly the same with the new one in.
I think being a hydrualic clutch they all tend to be a bit on the high side but i had no problems with judder.
Hope this is of some help.
