Question Advice Required

Having owned my 94 wrx for 6months i have began to notice slight burning smell when stationary. only happens when engine is hot. also black dust/powder is appearing on the tailpipe of the exhaust. is this just normal or is there a combustion problem?

Can you describe the smell? Are there any visible fluid leaks in the engine bay? Has the black dust in the tail pipe only recently started to appear?

Think its oil but cannot find any leaks. dust started appearing about 2/3 weeks ago
