Standard P1 Exhaust Info Please!
Hi All,
I'm after a new backbox for my 99MY turbo (something pretty quiet). I've seen a virtually unused standard P1 system for sale. Can anyone offer any info on these, such as;
1. Mild steel or stainless (for the price of a P1, you'd expect stainless, but I doubt it!) ?
2. Are they any different to an STI system ?
3. What do you reckon it's worth ?
Thanks in advance,
Rich (ScoobyNet virgin - Not any more!)

Morning mate
I will be very shortly removing my Prodrive BackBox from MY00UKTub. It is a bit quiet for me to be honest and will be putting it up for sale. There is nothing wrong with it apart from me wanting something louder
If you are interested then let me know ?
Cheers

IIRC the BB is identical to an STi V BB apart from P1 stamp on shiney tail pipe. They are fairly straight thru design and quiet. Can't remember if the P1's had a centre cat but STi V's had a resonated de cat pipe. The DP 's are the same.
I'd offer £40-50 for the BB, oh and its mild steel but not super quick rusting type!

Thanks for the info Floyd.
Nelson,
I may well be interested in your Prodrive BackBox. Is it stainless and what's the tail pipe design ? What sort of price you after ?
Cheers,
Rich.

Wrong.
The standard P1 BB is exactly the same as the STI 5 BB and has STI printed on it (not P1). It tapers in before the box. It's also very quite (only very slightly loader than the standard 00 Turbo twin pipes).
The box with P1 printed on it, is an aftermarket prodrive box that is straight through. This is quite loud (about the same as a ScoobySport BB). A lot of people got these fitted when the car was new, but it isn't a standard box.
Cheers
