Anyone know actually HOW an electronic boost controller works and what are the benefits over the standard system?

Does the existing boost solenoid get replaced?

Which is the best EBC to go for and how much should I pay for one?

Any information re these things appreciated.

Rich, give well lane a bell, and they'll tell you everything you need to know, explained everything to me about the GReddy unit in the car at the mo. It does replace the solenoid, but thats as far as my knowledge goes I've slept since they told me, have you checked out the web sites, for the units you're looking at as they usually explain everything, the Greddy site does.

Nice topic. I have the Blitz DSBC and would also like to know how they work as I'm not to familiar with the technical side of these.

One thing I do know is that with the Blitz, the existing boost solenoid is by passed and when removing the grey rubber pipe that goes from the air flow area (behind power steering resevoir) to the solenoid be sure to plug the bit where the pipe plugs into at the air flow area end. I think this is so the engine does not run lean.

The EBC allows you to run your desired boost and holds boost more precisely with less fluctuations.

Without hijacking this thread ,I'd like to ask, does the ECU see this boost from the EBC? Or does the EBC fool the ECU into thinking it is running less boost?
