ok.. I've no idea if this will cause a problem but I'm about to buy a new blitz air filter and was a little concerned that it may cause overboosting.. would this only become a problem when I fit a new downpipe?

how much and what do I need to get a boost gauge? could I fit it myself?

In my limited experience it will make no difference but a downpipe will and it may spool up so quickly that is will overboost unless you change the wastegate restrictor.
