My speedo cable broke on my 93 wrx recently, I'm sorting out a replacement this week.

The engine has switched into limp home mode 4500 rpm max 0.5bar boost and a 'check engine' lamp showing.

How can I restore the engine to its correct setting?

 

Repair should sort it.

 

Had same problem. Once repaired will run fine as JB says
