Angry Crank Pulley - Help

Could someone help me please, im in the middle of stripping down my buggered engine but I can't figure out how to remove the crank pulley due to the fact that every time you turn the nut holding the pulley the crank turns with it. Is there anyway to lock it or something. Quick response would be much appriciated.

Many thanks

From my memory (which isn't too good) there are a couple of holes in the pulley designed for a tool to sit in whilst you put on the socket and pull against. DIY special tool making time m8!

if you have access to compressed air, a buzz gun will have it straight off.

Use a screwdriver to jam the teeth on the flywheel. Yes I know its difficult but it should hold..
