gents i have oportunity to get a R34 intercooler fairly new FOR NOTHING!!!!

so was wondering is there any known reason why i shouldnt try and fit it i can get brackets etc made easily by a guy that make F1 parts..

also a turbo could be going spare as the R34 is going to single turbo

advice or pointers please

The piping for the end tanks on the GTR intercooler is to big a diameter (80mm) to be able to easily pipe it into your engine bay. But R34 intercoolers have crimped on end tanks so you can very easily un-crimp them and you will be left with a very nice core. Is it the standard R34 turbo's? in which case 1 will be to small. And also tell the skyline owner not to ruin it by going single turbo. Two is without any shadow of a doubt, better than one.

Cool

thanks very much about the intercooler will have a closer look at it..

what is the deal with the turbos on the R34? he is being advised that a single will be better than a double by most of the well known skyline garages.
its hard to know whats best if your not a technical guy like either him or me for that matter.,.

cheers

They are ****

Skylines have two ceramic Garett T28s, according to abbey they tend to shatter at much over 1.5 bar. I think your standard one will be bigger anyway. The Gtir also has a t28 iirc but its metal not ceramic

Single or twin is dependant on what the car will be used for and what kind of power figures you are after. I've driven loads of skylines and all the single turbo ones do nothing for me. If you are going drag racing on a budget then single turbo is probably the best route (but a skyline is the wrong car). For anything else then twin is definately a better way to go. Twin gives a lower boost threshold a wider power band and more torque. Give the workshop a ring if you would like to talk some more. RB Motorsport 01704 822848
