Hi Ricky. I've a '93 WRX & fitted it with a K&N induction kit (cone filter) Cost about £85 with all the instruction a ham-fisted idit like me could need!! It's certainly freed up the acceleration once on boost, but did feel there was slightly more noticable turbo lag (?). Makes a good noise too! All you'll need then is a decent downpipe etc & you'll be flying.......

I have the HKS green mushroom induction kit fitted to mine, As for what is best, everyone will say that the one they have fitted is best, I started with a ITG replacemnet filter in mine which made a difference over the standard.
I'm not the best person to say about when boost comes on etc, I use the I like the look, sound feel of a product rather than its spools up 300rpm earlier etc, I'm looking out of the windown when doing things like that rather than the gauges.
But as Izzy says get a down pipe as well & you will notice 1 hell of a difference.
Cheers

Get the bathroom sorted first! Hope I didn't drop you in it today mate!!
Good to see you and your good lady, finally. Stay in touch and we'll try and get together for another area meet.
As for filters? Haven't a clue!
