Won't start
#1
After early advice/clues before poking around under the bonnet tonight.
Car: RB5 with Link, full ScoobySport system, ITG filter running on BP SUL
Problem: Did 270 miles last night without a hickup (filled tank at 220 mile mark). Parked up for the night at 12:30am then at 8am the car refused to start. Fuel pump runs OK and engine turns over normally, just no firing.
What should be my initial checks? Which plugs/wiring. If poking around doesn't prove fruitful then I will try replcaing the standard ECU.
Help!?!?!

I’m getting early signs of this as well but only about once a week. Standard MY98, so without any of the mods you mentioned. Every now and then the engine turns over as normal but doesn’t fire. Second attempt with a little throttle and then starts up. The car is over three years old, but with low milage it hasn’t had the plugs changed so I was leaning towards starting with them being changed. If you take a look over on the SIDC site there are a couple of similar questions to do with cold/hot starting, with the response being have the temp sensor checked as the car may not be getting enough fuel on cold starts.
Anyone else have any ideas ??

Could be the relay for the immobiliser is dirty. Try arming and disarming the alarm again and restart within 30 seconds.
I dont know for sure but I suspect Sigma M30 relay disarms the fuel pump as is common. I assume this alarm system is still fitted?
If not the above may be something more serious, I assume you are using genuine key with immobiliser chip as standard etc?

My problem seems to be the Link ECU, Iswapped it out for the original Subaru one and the problem went away, Swapped back and it wouldn't start again.
Guess I'll have to send the board off to Uncle Bob for investigation.
Thanks for the help though guys.
