Strange knocklink activity
I was out playing in a friend's ScoobyECU'd WRX wagon last night...
He's been having some difficulty with the knocklink displaying strange things for the past couple of weeks. As far as we know, nothing has changed on the car.
Using SelMon, I can see the ECU retarding the timing for the "couple of greens" and the "one amber" type knock, but sometimes on partial throttle with a bit of boost the link goes mad and displays red for several seconds. There is no ECU timing correction activity at all, and the AFR looks OK.
The engine and wiring etc.. looks OK and the car runs sweetly. There's no oil in the breathers or IC. If it really was detting like the knocklink showed, the engine should be in pieces by now
I plan to try to borrow a spare knocklink display and then try my DIY det cans out on the car sometime this week.
What have I missed?
