Default Intermittent Clutch Slip? Technical Assistance Please

Has anybody else had experience of intermittant clutch slip. I am running a MY99 UK Turbo and replaced the original clutch 15,000 miles ago with a supposedly uprated Subaru clutch. I paid extra for the uprated clutch as the engine was modified at the same time (from 225bhp to approx 280bhp). After as little as 6,000 miles I was getting very occassional clutch slip that would annoyingly never happen when I took the car back to the local specialist. This problem has been getting progressively more frequent and I am now getting slip very frequently and debating the best course of action.

Despite the increase in power I would be very suprised for the clutch to fail after such a low mileage (original clutch lasted 60k and wasn't slipping at all -just juddering occassionally).

Is it possible that the springs holding the clutch plates together are worn or sticky? Is it also possible that there could be a very minor oil leak, that has been depositing oil onto the clutch?

Does anybody know if there are any tests that can be done without removing gearbox from car.

Any help on this would be really appreciated

Darren
