Hi

Bit worried i have done somthing to engine. Was steady along a country lane. Hit a large puddle/ mini-lake. It Was like hitting a brick wall motor slowed down fast, not stalling or anything, just water slowing it. After about 30 yards oil light comes on bright at first. Then slowly dimms and goes out after another 10 miles or so.

What u reckon ?

Sounds like water got into a connector in the loom somewhere, and as time passed it dried out, it's worth at least checking the oil!
If the oil level is correct, then don't panic, if it's very high, then don't drive the car and change the oil quick smart!

If the car lasted 10miles with the oil light on then it must be as RON said.. doubt the engine would last with oil pressure that low for 10miles.
