White smoke on idle?
#1
I have just had a new exhaust system fitted to the car,i.e. front down pipe, centre section and backbox. Problem is that I have noticed some white smoke only when it has been idling for at least 4 or 5 minutes. Is this because there is no cats and condensation is building up or is there a serious problem. Other mods to the car is a cone filter induction kit, Macs Power chip with boost limiter, currently running at 1.25/1.3 bar of boost. Anyone any ideas.
Thanks
Alan

I too have been having this problem since I had a DP and mid pipe put on.
I was told by my dealer that it was oil/condensation and not to be too concerned. However don't take my word for it get you local dealer to check it out for you

Alan,
If the exhaust has just been fitted it's possibly a very small amount of oil burning off the outside of the system and this will go away in a short space of time. Everytime I'd built a new engine and started her for the first time there would be copious amounts of white smoke from the exhaust system from where I'd put my 'mucky mitts' on the exhuast, the block, the cylinder head etc.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
John

I would be more concerned about running that level of boost which is simply to high.
