I have just noticed a disturbing knocking noise.
I use the car to commute to work (80 mile round journey).
The journey is purely motorway until I get with in a mile of the office or my house, it is then 10 – 15 minutes of being stationary in traffic. It is at the end of the journey that I get the noise.
The noise comes and goes in a cycle at tick over, a cycle of about 5 seconds.
The ticking/tapping noise comes in quite to quite load for about 3 seconds of the cycle.
It will do this for about the first 5 minutes and has gone when I try to locate the noise under the bonnet, sounds like a bearing-ish.
Any Ideas.
