Is there a Rev limiter on the impreza turbo. I have a 1997 impreza turbo and owned it for 2 months now. I've not felt the rev limiter yet ?? I've only driven pass 6k revs once yet!!

My 97 WRX appears to have a rev limiter. Once you hit 7250 (red line starts at 7000) you loose power until you go back below the red line. After that the car acts normally. It's all too easy to pull away at a junction in 1st and be in the red before you get a chance to change. Likewise dropping a cog for overtaking should be done with caution!!
Got half way down a 911 and realised I was in the red and the limiter cut in and there I was trying to knock it up a cog to finish the overtaking!!
