Quick question regarding 94 WRX gearbox.
I'm currently only getting @ 19mph per 1K revs, is this the norm for an early WRX, running 17" with 45 profile?
If not can I easy check the gearbox number to find what box it is ?
Also the lower front wishbones appear to be alloy is this normal or has johnny foreigner changed them

Is it an RA? As far as I know, a 'normal' WRX or sti does around 21mph/1000rpm in 5th, my 95 WRX does, anyway. A type R or type RA has slightly shorter gearing, approx 19mph/1000rpm, and a UK scoob has taller gearing, approx 24 or 25 mph/1000rpm (except for the p1, which I think is the same as an sti)
Hope this helps!
Oh, and imports do have the alloy wishbones.

It sounds like you have an RA, as they go about 19mph at 1000rpm in 5th gear.
Even the STi's have slightly longer gearing than the RA's, and if you have different suspension again that's another sign. Either that or someone modified it.

I have a Version 3 RA box and 100km/h comes up at just over 3200rpm. You can do the math, but it looks pretty close to yours. Shame about the alloy control arms. If I lived closer I'd happily swap with you ;-)
